The review of the Language, Literacy and Numeracy Program was conducted between August and November 2004. The review found that the program supported key Australian Government policies, that it had outcomes comparable to other labour market programs, that it assisted clients to improve their language and/or literacy and numeracy skills, and that improved management of the program has led to increased efficiency of training delivery. While the fundamental features of the program remained, a number of detailed changes have been made to the 2006-07 - 2008-09 Program to improve educational outcomes, streamline administration and improve financial management.
